What I love about this book is the premise that people only need to be "reasonably" organized. This author (like all good Professional Organizers) knows that perfection is not the goal...the goal is function. The book is a fun read chock-full of anecdotes to illustrate each of the excellent nine strategies. I think this is the best overall organizing book out there (aside from my own, of course!)
This is an excellent tool for anyone (not just people with diagnosed or suspected ADD). I recommend it to many of my clients because it is packed with sound yet truly creative ideas -- more "out of the box" than you'll find in other organizing books. Also, the book addresses solutions from three levels: "Level One: Ways to Help Yourself," "Level Two: Help from Friends and Family," and "Level Three: Help from Professionals." It is very accessible and can be a resource -- it doesn't have to be read cover-to-cover. This is a particularly good book for those "creative thinkers" out there for whom more linear organizing ideas haven't been a good fit.
Written especially for frustrated (and worried) parents, book is full of practical tried-and-true methods that help kids get and stay organized so they can succeed in school. Donna Goldberg is a parent who, as a Professional Organizer, has specialized in organizing children and their schoolwork for over 15 years -- she knows her stuff. It's a great parenting resource, and may be a life-saver for parents of a child struggling in school because her or she can't remember the test Friday, can't find his or her homework, and didn't realize until 10:00 that the big project is due tomorrow. These are precisely the skills we as adults need, also. If our kids learn it early, they'll succeed not just in school but in life. Parents may find some gems for themselves as well as their kids.
