Experience
After years of creating order out of chaos at the request of friends and family, Porter founded Organized by Knight in 1996. Since then, she has been a frequent radio guest nationally and hosted a radio show "Organizing on the Air" for 5 years. Porter is quoted often and writes frequently on the topic of organizing for local and national publications. She is sought as a dynamic and enthusiastic presenter. Porter has inspired thousands through her many public speaking venues and distinguished array of clients.
She has written two books:
Organized to Last: 5 Simple Steps to Staying Organized (book with DVD)
and
Get Paid to Win Clients: Public Speaking as a Marketing Tool, a workbook for entrepreneurs.
 Porter was one of the first in the nation to achieve the credential of Certified Professional Organizer.® CPO® Certification recognizes those professionals who have met specific minimum qualifications and proven through examination and client interaction to possess the body of knowledge and experience required for certification. The program recognizes and raises industry standards, practices, and ethics.
 In 2006 Porter Knight was nominated for the prestigious Founders' Award - the highest national honor bestowed upon a Professional Organizer by the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO). Porter is proud to be an active member of the NAPO. Her industry contributions include:
- Chairwoman of the 2006 Annual Conference in Boston (950 participants)
- NAPO Liaison for Vermont (1997-present)
- Developer and Instructor of NAPO's flagship education programs for new organizers: PO-001 and PO-101

Porter is a member the New England chapter of NAPO, and is affiliated with organizing web site OnlineOrganizing.com.
Porter is a graduate of Middlebury College (Middlebury, Vermont). She lives in Bristol, Vermont with her husband and their two sons.
